Design Revolution Road Show

Design Revolution Road Show is a traveling exhibition and lectures series to bring the evidence of and tools for design for social impact to 36 high schools and university design programs across the US. It took place in the Spring of 2010. A mobile exhibition, of 40 selected contemporary design objects and systems, was housed in a 1972 Airstream trailer. Products were on view at every stop for visitors to experience, use, and touch. Each product is a smart design solution to one of the following eight issues: Water, Well-Being, Energy, Education, Play, Food, Mobility, and Enterprise.

These issues represent the 8 categories of the book Design Revolution: 100 Products that Empower People. The author is Emily Pilloton, Industrial designer and Project H Design Founder. A lecture was given at every stop by Emily Pilloton and/or Matthew Miller. The lectures included examples of Project H initiatives, the Design Revolution Toolkit as well as the background and tactics for using creative capital for social change. After visiting 36 schools, the final stop was at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) at the Javits Center in New York.
